Bramham Park Fun Run 2013
The 15th Bramham Park Fun Run was held on Sunday 6th October and was a great success, 697 people registered and the event is expected to raise in the region of £12,000 for research being carried out at St James Hospital, Leeds. Last year 485 people took part and raised £7,500.
It was a beautiful October day, a clear blue sky, bright sunshine and cool. After the recent rain it was wet underfoot but this did not discourage the entrants from having a great day. Martin Shaw Fitness provided a warm-up session with the assistance of AV Matrix, who provided the staging and public address system. Dave Baxter and his team from Tadcaster Physiotherapy provided free massages. Ann Newton, the event organiser welcomed participants and started the event.
In the 10K, first was Michael Elgie from Northumberland in a time of 37minutes 39seconds; 2nd was Steve Melber from Thorp Arch in 38:05, 3rd was David Bannister from York in 38:31, the first female was Angela Reeve from Collingham in 43:51.
In the 5K, first for the second year was Franco Pardini from Leeds in 18:45; 2nd was Paul Wass from Nottingham in 19:38, 3rd was Oliver Cockerill for Market Weighton in 20:33 and the first female was Jill Green from Wetherby in 24:14.
