Bramham Park Fun Run 2014
The 16th Bramham Park Fun Run was held on Sunday 5th October and was a great success, 520 people registered and the event is expected to raise in the region of £8,500 for research being carried out at St James Hospital, Leeds.
It was a beautiful October day, just right for a run in the park, which was glorious in its emerging autumn colours. Martin Shaw Fitness provided a warm-up session with the assistance of AV Matrix, who provided the staging. Ann Newton welcomed the participants and Hayley Dunlop, a cancer survivor, started the event.
In the 10K, the first male runner was Sam Anderson from Leeds in a time of 41 min 11 seconds; the first female was Angela Reeve from Collingham in a time of 41 min 56 seconds.
In the 5K, the first male runner was Angus McMillan from Sheriff Hutton in 19 min 01 seconds; the first female was Frederica Moore from Linton in 23 min 53 seconds.
Ann and Jeff Newton would like to thank the participants, Tadcaster Harriers for marshalling, numerous family members, friends and neighbours for their support, Beadnall Copley for covering all the costs, Central Garage, Boston Spa for the use of their support vehicle, Tadcaster Physio for massaging many sore limbs, Martin Shaw Fitness and AV Matrix.
